Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

I do not currently accept insurance, but I can provide you with a monthly superbill (a detailed receipt) for possible insurance reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. Please check with your insurance provider to see if this is an option for you.

Do you offer in-person or tele-health therapy?

I offer both in-person and online therapy for individuals in California. Unfortunately, if you are located outside of CA, state licensing does not permit us to work together. If you are interested in coming to Los Angeles for a weekend intensive, please reach out and I can provide you further information.

Is tele-health therapy actually effective?

Yes! Research has shown that tele-health therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. The therapeutic techniques used in virtual sessions are the same as those used in-office. I have found that many clients actually prefer tele-health sessions due to convenience and flexibility of it as well as having the comfort and privacy of being in your own space. Added bonus if you have a pet- they can join in as an extra form of comfort, security and grounding throughout our session.

What can I expect during my first session?

In your first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other. I’ll ask about your background, any challenges you’re currently facing, and what you're hoping to achieve in therapy. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have, and we’ll discuss the goals for your treatment moving forward. It's all about finding a comfortable and collaborative starting point.

Can I really do EMDR virtually?

Yes, Clinical studies have shown that EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is just as effective in a tele-health format. During a virtual session, I will send you a link that we will use for the bilateral stimulation. Once you open the link on your computer, a blue dot will appear on your screen. I can control the movements of the blue dot on my end to guide you through the eye movements of EMDR therapy. This all occurs while still in our secure, virtual meeting space.

What is a good faith estimate?

By law, healthcare providers are required to offer a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for services, including therapy, to help you understand the costs involved before starting treatment. This estimate outlines the expected fees for your sessions based on the frequency of appointments and the type of services provided.

While it is an estimate and the actual costs may vary depending on the specifics of your care, I will provide you with a GFE at the beginning of our work together. This ensures transparency and helps you make informed decisions about your mental health care. If you have any questions or concerns about the costs or payment structure, feel free to ask—I’m happy to discuss this with you.
